The photographic projects

Underpinned by the mission to support talented artists and foster common shared values like inclusivity, which is at the core of both brands, the synergy between Gucci Beauty and Photo Vogue Festival grows stronger every year. The long-standing commitment aims to help the public understand how diversity is an integral and critical part of our society. To this end, for the sixth edition of the festival, among the artists on display at Reframing History/12 chapters, Austro-Nigerian photographer David Uzochukwu was selected to offer his unique interpretation of Gucci Beauty.
Featuring models wearing Fluide de Beauté Foundation and Palette Beauté des Yeux Floral, amongst other beauty products, Uzochukwu’s portraits mirror the freedom of expression celebrated by Gucci Beauty. Inspired by a manifesto written by the House’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, the Gucci Beauty collection reflects the idea that makeup is a way to show one’s character and personality. Within this dialog, makeup can be worn in infinite ways, whether as a way of revealing one’s true self, or as a means of transformation.

The warm colors and the intensity of the portrayed subjects captured in a meditative state transport the viewer into a dream-like scape where the line between the natural and the supernatural, the visible and the invisible, is blurred and vague. This universe coexists with reality, allowing us to simply slip into it every time we take the freedom to be playful in expressing ourselves.

Blooming Youth

XIAOMI by Arianna Genghini

Xiaomi and Vogue Italia involved ten young people in a special fashion shoot, shot by the talented Arianna Genghini, one of the authors of the PhotoVogue community, which counts more than 257,000 users from all over the world.

The portrait series on display at Photo Vogue Festival emphasizes the expressive quality of the subjects who were encouraged to show their personality in a playful and spontaneous manner. “Blooming Youth” is a celebration of youth euphoria, of the beauty of showing up fearlessly and unafraid, oozing the vibrant enthusiasm of those who are keen to experiment, challenge themselves and reach a deeper introspective knowledge.

Two of the subjects portrayed, Gaia Nardozza and David Blanco, were selected to become the faces of the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE “New Talent” campaign. Global technology leader, Xiaomi, launched this new product designed with fashion addicts and individuality in mind.

Ultra-slim and feather light, Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is the perfect offering for those seeking a high-end and stylish smartphone with innovative features that enable self-expression and creativity.

Bio

My name is Arianna Genghini, I’m a 26 years old photographer based in Milan.

I’m a wanderer, traveller, dreamer, and what drives me in life is the curiosity of exploring the world in which I live. The place where I feel most free and safe is wild nature, in the mountains or by the ocean.

My deepest passions are art, photography and fashion and I feel that photography has given me the means of speaking my true self. I’ve got a background as fashion designer, so to me fashion photography was the natural path to follow.

Within my work, both in fashion and personal projects, I focus on themes and issues which I care as a woman about, such as feminism, female sexuality and identity, intimacy and the relationship between body, nature, and clothing.

Empathy and softness set my personality and my photographic approach apart. I like to connect to the subjects and represent them in the most natural and spontaneous way, be them people flowers or landscapes.
