Tomorrow's Women Today

of equilibrium

of reflection

of levity

of tension

For the 2020 edition of Photo Vogue Festival, Audi, official partner of the festival, and Vogue Italia have identified a young Italian photographer with a talent for translating the diverse and many facets of the female universe into images: Clara Melchiorre. The car manufacturer symbolized by the four interlocking rings continues the collaboration with Vogue Italia to scout and support the next generation of contemporary photography talents in the firm belief that creativity plays a vital role in the field of innovation. Inspired by the new Audi Q2, Clara Melchiorre has shot a project that pays tribute to ‘progressive women’, namely those women who are trailblazers and, through their actions, can bring about change, inspiring others and influencing the world around them. Indeed, the new Audi Q2 is much more than a car. It is the ideal vehicle for everyday use that turns into a Personal Accelerator for the driver. A great choice for independent women who want to reach their goals without forsaking elegance and style.

Clara Melchiorre, the writer Sara Rattaro and the Artistic Director of the festival, Alessia Glaviano, are also the protagonists of the talk “Tomorrow’s Women Today” which focuses on female empowerment and creativity. An opportunity to discuss the inspirations and motivation behind the work of the two creatives in attendance and to speak about art, progress and visions for the future, elements that are essential for Audi. Thanks to their extra-ordinary sensitivity, artists have the ability to read the present with a sharper eye. Not only that, they can sense as well as shape the future. The same vision applies to Audi, a maker dedicated to designing cars with an unconventional character, like the new Audi Q2, an urban SUV that marries style and cutting-edge technology thanks to the combination of a highly enjoyable driving experience, sophisticated design and advanced connectivity solutions.

Nature, arts and olfactory notes
New York creative Doan Ly reinterprets five of Xerjoff’s luxury fragrances in a floral project that explores the world of artistic perfumery.

“The lightness of a perfume has the power to inspire emotions, stimulating our creative flair whilst stirring our senses,” suggests Sergio Momo, founder of Xerjoff, «a certain olfactory note evokes unchartered paths, it translates into colours, a composition, a visual melody triggering endless connections”. It is the same polychrome, multi-layered, eurythmic vision that has brought together the prestigious, luxury perfume house hailing from Turin and designer Doan Ly, the founder of a.p. bio, a floral studio based in New York. She has reinterpreted five fragrances from Xerjoff’s deluxe collections capturing their dramatic power. Guided by her intuition, she leaves it to the images to reveal their essence. Enveloped in lissome petals, the perfume bottles are the absolute protagonists of the shots entrusted with flying us into a dreamy, sensual world. By way of a visual language, the essence of Nature is pulsated into life conveying the olfactory notes, at times soft, at times spiced. Xerjoff’s luxury approach emerges visibly, alongside the perfume house’s extraordinary research, the exquisite olfactory qualities and, most of all, the unmistakably Italian DNA built around unique details and artistry. The five chosen fragrances are symbolic of the maison. Expertly conceived to have a long lasting velvety effect, Erba Pura, part of the V Collection, is an enchanting blend of Mediterranean citruses, sweet fruits layered over a sensual Oriental base. More Than Words, from the JTC Collection, is a fragrance for writers and poets who share the artistic temptation of words, with the perfume composition expressing dignity, drama and passion. Irisss, from Xerjoff’s 17/17 Collection, displays the finest and most magical powdery roots coupled with a decidedly intense and modern execution. At its heart is iris butter, one of perfumery’s most noble ingredients, surrounded by floral and woody constituents. Amber & Rose, from the Shooting Stars Collection, is a box set containing a duo of fragrances that invites you to personalise your experience by mixing them inspired by their sensual and powerful notes. Golden Green, part of the Coffee Break Collection, which is available exclusively online at Xerjoffuniverse.com, reinterprets the purity of unroasted, raw green coffee beans delivering a truly energising fragrance.

Is it possible to shoot high-quality pictures with a smartphone? The answer is “yes” because we can rely on state-of-the-art smartphones such as the Mi 10T, the latest series of smartphones from Xiaomi, which is introducing new photographic software innovations. A global technology leader, Xiaomi is committed to quality, operating efficiency and innovation, resulting in pioneering smartphones that are capable of inspiring and elevating our creativity.
As well as offering a triple camera setup complete with a 13 megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 5 megapixel macro camera and a 20 megapixel selfie camera on the front, the Mi 10T Pro model presents a host of outstanding new features. These are the same specs that the photographer Riccardo Dubitante has had the opportunity to try out during the Photo Vogue Festival. Xiaomi and Vogue Italia invited this particular fashion photographer to use his special touch and vision while experimenting with some of the new shooting modes and innovative photo filters, such as Clone, Wonder, Long Exposure, Light Painting and Cyberpunk. In line with his artistic quest focused on portraits imbued with a strong expressive quality, Dubitante photographed young Milanese creatives and transformed them into fascinating subjects of contemporary-style paintings. His intimate and unmistakable eye takes the viewer on a journey of discovery. Thanks to the mood that Dubitante creates using the Mi 10T Pro’s features , each photo reveals insightful aspects of the portrayed subject’s nature. For example, the Light Painting mode lets you write or draw a scene with light to create an overall magical atmosphere in the dark. Meanwhile, the Long Exposure mode delicately accentuates facial features to produce an intentionally blurred effect that recalls the photographs of Julia Margaret Cameron. Then there’s the Clone mode which multiplies the subject, reproducing it in multiple points of the shot with a surreal effect. Lastly, Cyberpunk emphasises the colour scheme in night settings by highlighting even the most subtle shades. The extraordinary quality of the Mi 10T Pro’s camera gives you the power to make the subjects of your shots unique in the eyes of the viewer.
