5 Days Of Beauty with Vogue Club Member Eloise Skinner

Last weekend, Vogue Club member Eloise Skinner attended Vogue’s 5 Days Of Beauty—an unmissable lineup of panel discussions headed up by the industry’s leading beauty experts—at London’s iconic Vogue House! Here’s her journal from the event…

Where are you from?

London

What do you do?

I'm an author—and a fitness/dance instructor!

How long have you been a Vogue Club member?

Since December 2022

You attended 5 days of beauty at London’s iconic Vogue House—Tell us about your day!

I attended Skincare Sunday, the first masterclass in the 5 Days of Beauty lineup, which focused on sustainable, personalised beauty treatments and honed in on Caudalie––the viral French skincare brand.

Our agenda kicked off with refreshments, followed by a panel discussion on the importance of building a skincare and beauty routine tailored to each person’s skin type, moderated by British Vogue’s Contributing Beauty Editor Kathleen Baird-Murray, and starring Evie (the influencer who’s often described as having the most perfect skin) and Adeela Crown, a beauty columnist for the Financial Times, alongside the team from Caudalie. The panel took questions from the audience—focusing on their favourite products (the Vinoperfect serum was mentioned a few times, as well as the Caudalie suncare range). The rest of the evening was open to explore product, and to receive either a 15-minute facial or a skin-scan analysis (a diagnostic tool used to examine individual needs).

What did you wear?

I was heading straight to work afterwards—to teach a gentle yoga class that evening—so I wore a Lululemon set. I've also been wearing a Filippa K quilted jacket on repeat lately, which is perfect for the transitional days between spring and summer.

Walk us through your beauty look for 5 Days of Beauty.

For this event, it was more skincare than beauty—since most people were having facials or skin scans, the beauty look was natural, with the focus more on moisturised, nourished skin.

Did you meet any of the team from British Vogue?

I loved hearing from Kathleen, and Emily Chan, British Vogue’s Senior Sustainability & Features Editor. The panel did a fantastic job of sharing their tips and expertise––in a way that felt relatable as well as informative.

What was your biggest beauty discovery or takeaway of the day?

I learned so much about my skin during the scan analysis, which measured my hydration levels, as well as any sun impact—it was incredibly insightful to see my results measured on a graph, using average levels of other people in my age group. I was recommended a moisturising product to try, along with a serum. I'm excited to bring both into my skincare routine.

What’s your signature beauty look?

Simple, natural, and sustainable—I try to focus on skincare, and suncare first! Because I have quite an active job, I find that my skin is usually in need of extra moisturising, so I try to keep a moisturiser (or tinted moisturising product) on hand at all times—and lots of hydrating lip care products!

If we raided your handbag, what three beauty/makeup products would we find?

Some kind of day moisturiser (at the moment, I love Sunday Riley C.E.O. Rich Hydration Cream, which is great under makeup, and can also be used at night), an SPF product (I picked up the Caudalie Vinosun High Protection Cream), and a lip product (you’ll usually find Glossier's Balm Dotcom in my bag).

Tell us about a product you have discovered recently—something you'd recommend we all try.

I recently discovered the Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel, which gives a gentle, warming sensation to tight or aching muscles. Great for post-workout self-care! I especially like using it on my neck and shoulders at the end of the day.
