[door clanging]

Oh my God. Vogue.

Hi.

Come on in.

We're doing Met Gala.

[upbeat music]

So this is my first Met Gala ever and I'm very excited.

I'm gonna be wearing Oscar de la Renta today.

It's a silver to white ombre beaded gown.

When this opportunity was even mentioned,

I thought about Carl and his cat and I was like,

I wanna be a cat.

[upbeat music]

And the reason why I'm tweezing hairs off my face

because I'm doing prosthetics today

Obviously, Carl's cat was a huge inspiration,

and taking it to the idea of something

that didn't feel campy or like a costume,

but really adding like a glam element.

There were mini sketches.

That's Fernando Sena.

But there was one right away

that I was like, This is the dress.

All hand beaded,

and then at the bottom of the dress,

we start to trickle in these white feathers

that look like fur.

But it's definitely going to be a very talked about look.

And I think that there's no one better

to do what we're doing than Doja Cat herself.

[upbeat music]

I was trying to see if I could scare my cat with it

but he just was looking at me like

you look weird today, mom.

I use fashion to express myself.

So bottom line, anytime that I'm doing something like this,

that's off of guard or out of the ordinary, it's, you know

another way of just me expressing myself

and also whoever I'm working with.

I'm doing cat claws

that we're sculpted by hand

for Amala's Cat look for the Met Gala today.

We're just gonna put like a really sheer

nude coat on them

so that they come off translucent.

And these are like the most like eccentric,

most crazy nails that I've ever created before,

which is perfect.

There's nothing like sending a message

through what you're wearing

and having a story behind something.

I think it's really refreshing to see

when people do stuff like that.

[Doja meowing]

I mean, it's always different

how she interprets beauty into her looks.

It's always really kind of messing with the idea

of the beauty norms.

And ever since she's shaved her head,

she's felt like this freeing energy of beauty

and being a woman that like,

you don't have to follow what people think beauty is.

[upbeat music]

Why do you think you're so comfortable

messing with the ideas of beauty norms?

Like something like this isn't something

that a normal woman on a moment

like a carpet like this would...

Why am I not like other girls, Brett?

I'll tell you, why?

Cause I love pizza, okay,

and chicky nuggies.

I love to wear sweatpants, indoors,

watch Marvel movies all day long.

That's why?

[Brett] Does that problem solve anything?

Goddamn it.

It's just exhausting to take yourself

so seriously to the point

where you're limiting your experience in your life.

I love to embrace everything.

I don't like to hide things.

I don't like to mask myself

and think that that needs to be my life

for the rest of my life.

I like to think outside the box.

[crew laughing]

[Speaker] The kitty letter box.

[Doja meowing]

[upbeat music]

My makeup's finished

and we are ready to get dressed and I'm very excited.

Are we excited?

We're so excited. [Doja meowing]

[upbeat music]

There it is. [Doja meowing]

[crowd cheering]
