You know that expression, it ain't my first rodeo.

It actually is my first rodeo.

[bright music]

Hey Vogue, what's going on? I'm Daniel Ricciardo.

This is my first Met Gala and I'm about to get ready for it.

So come on in, let's check it out.

It's funny because I feel I should get more nervous

before a race, but it's...

That's my comfort level, you know?

So this certainly feels like I'm stepping

out of my comfort zone and that's why, you know,

my perception of this is um, yeah, more nervous.

How did I go from Perth to the Met? It's kind of cool.

I tried to reach out to a few people

who I know had been before, and look, that gave me a lot of,

I think a lot of comfort as well

because all their experiences, you know,

they spoke so positively about it and they just said,

Mate you're gonna have like a blast.

You're gonna meet so many new people, you'll make friends.

That's, I think, ultimately it's definitely an honor

to be invited to this, and yeah,

just feel quite appreciative of being on the list.

[upbeat music]

So this is the look for tonight.

[Woman] It looks great.

So I think, you know, we've went through this a few times

via sketches, but I know when, you know,

Tom started thinking about his table

and reaching out to you.

He's really excited about, you know, kind of the classic

but comfortable look that you bring to your style

and then also channel Karl.

So Tom is really heavily inspired by Karl's work.

The first time he met Karl was a couture show in Paris

and Karl actually invited him to a Chanel show.

So a lot of the references you see in your look

are directly influenced by Karl's time at Chanel,

specifically tweed.

Love it. [laughs]

That's one thing I really also was excited about

with knowing I was gonna wear Thom Browne,

is they don't do the top button up.

And that's normally a problem for me with my, like, F1 neck.

It's comfort. It's good.

[upbeat music]

Let's go for it.

Oh yeah, actually. My little hip flask.

Gotta make sure when we were going through the jacket,

I was like, does it have a place for a hip flask?

What do you think?

[upbeat music]

[paparazzi chattering]

[gentle music]

Good times.

That's intense.

All right, Vogue.

Thanks for helping me put my pants on for the Met

and thanks to Thom Browne for making me look cute.

See you next time.

Enchante.
