How Is Cardi B Walking in These Shoes?

It’s no secret that Cardi B is a devoted heel lover. When she rapped about “bloody shoes” on her song Bodak Yellow, she was referring to her love of Christian Louboutin’s signature red bottoms. Even during the height of the pandemic, when most people found comfort in sweats, she would post photos of herself at home wearing sky-high Dolce & Gabbana wedges instead. She simply loves skyscraper shoes! But her latest look has the star taking death-defying platforms to a whole other level.

Yesterday, the rapper made an appearance at an event in Santa Monica for Whipshots—her line of vodka-infused whipped cream (yes, really). For the red carpet, the star wore a printed Pucci hooded catsuit from the label’s spring 2023 collection. While it’s a striking garment on its own, Cardi took it to the extreme when she paired it with a pair of sculptural platform sandals. The multicolor style, dubbed the Jenna II platform from Harry Kristoff x ShoesUSA, features a staggering plywood-cutout platform, and no real heel in the back.

To wear them, you have to balance yourself and put all of your weight onto the toes. Not only could Cardi walk in them—she even struck a cheeky sitting pose in them, on the carpet. That’s a true talent. Though no surprise, as Cardi is a seasoned pro.
