Hey there, Vogue.

Today's the day, BG here.

It's time to get ready.

Met Gala, let's go.

[chilled out music]

Where is my wife?

Hey babe. Hey.

Vogue, I would love to introduce you

to my amazing wife, Cherelle Griner.

I really cannot believe that this is happening

but we're going to the Met.

[chilled out music]

So BG woke up this morning to me screaming.

I was like, babe, it's the day.

I think we've been smiling all day.

I've never really done this before ever. [laughs]

It feels good.

And my evolution of getting prepared for events

definitely has changed.

But I remember the first one, I think the draft

was like the first huge one and I just remember

getting ready for that.

I was like in and out.

It was like, makeup, okay, no, I'm good.

Just some chapstick. [laughs]

Before it was like, ooh, I can't wait for this to be over.

And now, I mean I want it to go all night now.

I'm ready.

I want everybody to see all the hard work

that has went into this.

[Adam] Getting hydrated.

The most hydrated this face has ever been.

Right now I'm just working in a bit of a serum

to get the skin extra fortified and hydrated

and that skin manipulation's just gonna bring all that

blood flow to the surface and get that skin

looking and feeling the best it can.

Babe, you taking notes, you see the technique?

She's gonna be like, oh, I got a spa day tomorrow.

I'm like, you mean we have a spa day tomorrow?

So today with my makeup, I am doing a very natural glam,

just enough to where when I hit the red carpet, it glows.

Just have this exposure means a lot.

Be in front of the biggest camera, the biggest media

so then I can advocate for other detainees

that are wrongfully detained overseas that need to come home

and have the same welcoming that I had when I got back.

How do you stand up with confidence in the midst

of hearing you're not good enough

and you're struggling with so much adversity?

Ooh, great question babe.

I don't think I've ever been asked that by anybody,

honestly.

I would tell that person that's facing adversity

and you know, people telling them that they don't belong

or they shouldn't be here, use that as motivation.

And everybody wanted to put, you know, labels on things

and put you in box and categories, but forget that box.

You know, live out of it, be you.

First day at training camp.

So I think I may have died and came back there. [laughs]

No, training camp was back in Phoenix, so. [laughs]

Yeah, I mean, you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Everybody was really shocked, but I mean I'm not gonna miss

the first day of work, you know, like for anything.

But I'm not gonna miss these opportunities as well.

So, you know, you just gotta sacrifice

and find a way to make it work.

You're lucky I can't kiss you right now.

No you can't.

My lips are done.

Just hair. No.

So we have a mood board for hair.

It's gonna be this beautiful, sleek ponytail.

It is going to be epic.

We definitely wanted to make sure the dress

was the focal point for tonight.

And when I tell you guys Calvin Klein did not miss,

you guys, oh my goodness.

I just can't wait for you to see it.

You gotta just see it yourself.

It's amazing.

Okay, we've got your clothes right here

and we've got your suits, and there's one message

I wanted to share with you which we've embroidered inside.

This is love, just so you know that we're here with you

all night next to your heart.

And we also made some custom jewelry.

And don't forget the eyewear.

We've made what I now call the Cherelle dress

which is this like really beautiful,

like very statuesque column, structured wool.

And also we took inspiration from a bag

from our archive actually,

and remade it in new proportions and fabrics.

So there's a lot of like real Calvin DNA in here

but very much inspired by BG and Cherelle.

[Cherelle] Ooh, the jacket.

You look amazing.

Ah yeah, don't, no. [Cherelle laughs]

Don't burn yourself now, hot over here.

[chilled out music]

[everyone claps]

[chilled out music]

[Photographer] You look so pretty, down to the right.
